Mechatronics engineer

Airplane engines and other machines and devices consist of mechanical ("mecha") and electronic ("tronic") components. Mechatronics engineers assembly and operate these systems. They also install electrical components, weld together the materials and repair the machines.

Key training areas:

  • Manufacturing and processing mechatronic parts
  • Constructing and inspecting electrical, pneumatic (compressed air driven) and hydraulic (fluid pressure driven) control systems
  • Programming, installing and servicing mechatronics systems
  • Assembling and installing mechatronic components
