Service Engineer

The Service Engineer repairs and services CNC Lathes and Milling machines, provides customer communication, and assistance to the Application Engineering Department, as needed. Provide the service team with up-to-date information on project changes.

Responsibilitys
  • Provide electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repair service on CNC lathes and milling machines
  • Communicate technical service information to customers
  • Analyze needed repairs and proactively ensure that parts are ordered, delivered, and installed
  • Provide assistance for application department personnel as needed for set-up of new machinery and installation of options
  • Promote Preventative Maintenance Programs
  • Complete service and billing reports for each project and forward to Manager, Technical Services or Accounting. 
  • Participate in trade shows as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     
Your ideal background
  • Apprenticeship or an Associate Degree in electronics or mechanical engineering or 3-5 years experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing CNC Machine Tool Products
  • Experience in electro mechanical repair is required with knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic applications desired 
  • Experience with machine tools or precision machinery is essential
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Machine Tool Equipment repair
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge of spindle and axis drives on CNC machines
  • Knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens controls
  • Knowledge of computer software, hardware and electrical components
  • Ability to dismantle and assemble mechanical parts on machines (chucks, turrets, spindles)
  • Knowledge of part programming
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work closely with other department in the company
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated self-starter with effective planning and organizational skills
  • The physical demands of the job require continuous bending, stooping, standing, climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling
