EMCO has been building machines at its Hallein site since 1947. The latest generation of lathes and milling machines are packed with modern technology. A building block of our success story is the ongoing development and growth in knowledge. Many of our employees have been with EMCO for a long time. We enable internal professional perspectives and careers with our corporate orientation. In our new talent program, we map internal career paths and offer interested junior staff individual support in career planning. In this way we support both specialist and management careers. We support newcomers with academic qualifications in their career entry with our trainee program.
Promoting talent has long been important to us. Many of our employees started their careers at EMCO with an apprenticeship and continued as a successful professional career. This is also the case with our colleague Mr. Bernhard Wimmer, who started an apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician in 2001, after successfully completing agricultural college. As soon as he started his apprenticeship, he learned to appreciate the individual support he received from EMCO. His school hours were credited and he was able to complete his apprenticeship in a shortened time.
After successfully completing his apprenticeship, he was encouraged by his trainer to apply for a job in the electrical assembly department. Here he further expanded his technical knowledge. Further professional years followed in the Technical Commissioning Department before he moved to the Electrical Design Department.
In addition to his professional activities, he had also successfully completed the Berufsreifeprüfung and the Werkmeisterprüfung Mechatronik with the support of EMCO. In 2017, the Head of Research & Development recommended that Mr. Bernhard be offered the position of Head of the Electrical Design Department.
Supporting each other, promoting younger colleagues, has always been part of EMCO's philosophy. Our talent program incorporates our experience from our engagement and helps junior employees to plan and shape their professional path and career at and with the help of EMCO.
