Kuhn Group reports yet another successful business year

The past financial year was an exceptionally positive one for the Kuhn Group. The 2018/2019 financial year (as per the end of March) could not have been more successful for the Eugendorf-based Kuhn Group. Sales increased to EUR 649 million. Another welcome fact is that the number of staff has grown as well. Whilst the Kuhn Group employed close to 1,500 persons in the previous year, the number of people working at the family-owned company now amounts to around 1,600. 'We are currently employing 80 apprentices and attach great importance to training our future staff ourselves', says Gerhard Haggenmiller, CFO of the Kuhn Group.

A substantial increase.
'The past financial year was the most successful one in our history.  The number of incoming orders and our sales increased to a significant extent.  The market situation was excellent, and we have an outstanding organisational structure in place.   Our customers appreciate our service and our professional spare parts logistics', Karl Lenglacher, CEO of Kuhn Ladetechnik, explains and identifies another important reason for the successful business year,
'we have excellent employees, many of which have a lot of experience because they have been with us for a long time.  This, too, contributes significantly to the strength of our company.'
A success story.
Apart from Kuhn Baumaschinen and Kuhn Ladetechnik, which are very well positioned with the renowned Komatsu, Mitsubishi and Palfinger brands, the takeover of Hallein-based machine tool manufacturer EMCO has turned out to be yet another success.  Operating on a global level, the EMCO Group looks back on a successful business year.  Due to the strong economy, the merger of distribution networks and investments in products and distribution channels, the machine tool manufacturer has also increased its revenues.  In the 2018/2019 financial year, revenues of EUR 205.1 million could be achieved with around 800 employees.
'In 2018, we founded new EMCO subsidiaries in countries with promising markets, such as India, Switzerland and Poland.  In February 2019, we also founded a branch office in Mexico', tells Stefan Hansch, CEO of EMCO.
With a new logo, the slogan “beyond standard” and a new corporate identity, the EMCO brand has furthermore been redesigned.  'What is more, with our Demonstration Centre in Wendlingen near Stuttgart, we are going to open a new EMCO location in the very heart of the machine tool industry.  We have found a plot of approximately 7,500 square metres in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, the hub of the machine tool industry.  This is where we also want to open our Milling Competence Centre, the opening of which is scheduled for February/March 2020', Stefan Hansch explains.

The biggest future challenge faced by the Kuhn Group is to find suitable and motivated expert personnel.  The lack of qualified personnel concerns the whole Salzburg industry.
